First huge publicity for foursquare. Such a solid product.

Congrats to @foursquare on a nice NYTimes article. I’ve been using Foursquare since SXSW in March 2008 and immediately saw the viral hooks that would make grow. I recently visited the FourSquare office in NYC and I looking forward to seeing this product continue to grow and evolve.
While we are on the topic of location-based applications, another similar product worth taking a look at is the Going.com iPhone application. I first met Going at a TECH cocktail Boston event in 2007 and they have since been acquired by AOL as an asset in the AOL Local efforts.
foursquare:

Face-to-Face Socializing Starts With a Mobile Post (via Foursquare, a Social Network Site, Puts Users Face to Face - NYTimes.com)
“It’s planned serendipity,” said Emily Woolf, 24, a strategic planner living in Brooklyn who checks in on Foursquare when she wants to grab coffee or a drink with friends. “At this point, I don’t even bother texting or calling my friends. I just check Foursquare to see if they’re nearby and go meet them.”
Great piece by @jennydeluxe on foursquare in The New York Times, our first “Big Media” piece so far.
Special thx to @emii @anniemal @SugarMamas @stribs @newyorkcubic who all got shoutouts in the piece!
