NoLa Streetup!
Since October, Foursquare has taken New Orleans by storm. Led by Foursquare Street Team New Orleans leader Chris J. (@chrisjohnston), just five folks checking-in and adding every venue they visited, turned into 1,000 New Orleans foursquare users. Foursquare user Tung B. (@tungly) was a super mayor before the term was even invented, garnering over 30 mayorships in the early months. But now, the big fish in the small pond are starting to feel the pond grow.
Thanks to Tony Z. (@zanders), venues are starting to add value to the ecosystem by offering promotions to their frequent customers, including neighborhood favorites Naked Pizza (@NAKEDPizza) and Squeal BBQ (@SquealNola).
Next week, on Friday, January 22 from 8pm-11pm, Foursquare’s New Orleans Street Team will be hosting New Orleans’ first Streetup, and will the be the third city to do a pub crawl type event w/ Foursquare behind New York and San Francisco.

The event will take place at Capdeville in the CBD. This will be the first opportunity for mayors and foursquare users to eat up, meetup, tweetup.
